Meet Kevin from Taylor Hobson
Kevin is a supportive leader and a dedicated member of the AMETEK team. As the China & Taiwan BU Manager, he is responsible for Taylor Hobson’s strategic growth in the region. Learn more about Kevin’s AMETEK career.
Kevin and his team delivered Taylor Hobson’s first PGI NOVUS Large Size Bearing measurement system. How did your AMETEK career begin?
I joined AMETEK in 2007 as the China BU Manager for Taylor Hobson, where I built up the local sales, service and application teams. A few years later, in 2015, my role expanded to cover Taiwan as well.
How has AMETEK supported you in your position?
AMETEK is an organization where collaboration and teamwork matter. I have the chance to work with different teams all over the world. Management teams provide strategic insight and direction for local teams, and local teams are then empowered to take bold steps. This has led to constant growth for Taylor Hobson in China and Taiwan.
“I really enjoy working with our talented global workforce to deliver meaningful work and constant success.”
What are some of the initiatives you’ve worked on?
With support from global Taylor Hobson colleagues and our local teams in China and Taiwan, we’ve been able to accomplish a great deal during my time at AMETEK. We built a new service team, established Taylor Hobson’s presence in the first Customer Solutions Center in China, and set up joint labs with industry partners across the region.
What motivates you about your position as BU Manager?
I really enjoy working with our talented global workforce to deliver meaningful work and constant success. Also, my management team’s trust and strong support allows me to explore creative solutions. Lastly, the dedicated effort from the local China and Taiwan teams keeps me motivated as well.
Kevin recently became a Kaizen Black Belt and now facilitates kaizens throughout AMETEK. You recently became a Kaizen Black Belt. Tell us more about this opportunity.
Through AMETEK’s training initiatives, I was able to become a Black Belt, which means I can now facilitate kaizens throughout the company. I just finished a growth kaizen with some of our businesses in Japan and will soon begin working with teams in China and Vietnam.
What do you find beneficial about Kaizens?
Kaizen is a powerful method for improvement that I’m proud to be a part of. In addition to helping our businesses, I get to meet people from different parts of the world and share experiences with them. From attending kaizens to facilitating them, it’s paving the way for continuous improvement in my work and life.
