Future of Innovation:
Meet AMETEK's 2024 Engineering Interns
As a global manufacturer, AMETEK is dedicated to fostering the growth and talent of STEM students around the world. We’re excited to introduce some of the many talented engineering interns and apprentices from our family of businesses.
Emerson – Engineering Intern, AMETEK Coining
Emerson is a rising senior at Lehigh University majoring in material science and engineering with a minor in business. During her summer internship at AMETEK Coining, she’s gained hands-on experience in the laboratory performing material analysis for newly melted alloys, as well as welding. She’s also worked with the Coining team on process development and new product development.
“At Lehigh, I’ve learned the background information. During my internship at Coining, I’ve been able to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting, which has been really rewarding,” she says.
In addition to the hands-on experience, Emerson has learned about AMETEK’s marketing strategy and sustainability efforts through presentations held by AMETEK divisional leadership and connected with other AMETEK teams around the world.
“You get the best of both worlds at AMETEK,” she says. “I get to work closely with the team at Coining, while also being connected to the larger AMETEK organization and supporting their goals.”
Alex – Biomedical Engineering Intern, Reichert Technologies
Alex is a rising junior at the University of Buffalo majoring in biomedical engineering and math. During his summer internship at Reichert Technologies, he’s been able to explore different facets of engineering – including developing fixtures to enhance functionality of a product, fine-tuning work instructions, and conducting product-related research. In addition to the hands-on experience, Alex and Reichert’s other summer interns presented the work they’ve completed thus far to the rest of the business.
“It’s been great to work with and learn from the Reichert team,” he says. “They’ve guided me and helped me learn so much about different areas of engineering and where they can take me in my career.”
Aqtar – Full Stack Developer, Rauland
Aqtar recently graduated from NMAM Institute of Technology with a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering and found this position with AMETEK India through his master’s degree program. During this 11-month internship with Rauland, Aqtar has primarily worked with the installer development team for Rauland’s Responder® product line. Since joining the team, he’s learned more about software development strategies and has become proficient in a new programming language, all while gaining insights into Rauland’s innovative healthcare communications solutions.
“It has been a significant eye-opener to see how AMETEK professionals get things done and experience that level of workflow,” he says. “This exposure has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth.”
Aqtar is grateful for the many colleagues around the world who have supported him throughout his AMETEK journey so far.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here with my cheerful and helpful colleagues,” he says. “This experience has transformed me from a student into a professional programmer and enthusiastic team player.”
Jannik – Industrial Engineering Trainee, Dunkermotoren
Jannik began his trainee program at Dunkermotoren in 2021 and is currently studying Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Product Engineering at the University of Furtwangen in the Black Forest region of Germany. Over the past three years, Jannik has worked with several departments to get a comprehensive understanding of Dunkermotoren’s products and services. He enjoys interacting with colleagues and customers to come up with innovative technical solutions.
“I believe that a holistic view of an entire company is important for success,” he says. “The Dunkermotoren team has provided me with many opportunities to learn more about different parts of the company and interact with new people, which is very energizing."
Jannik will begin working on his bachelor’s degree thesis in the fall, focusing on technical sales at EGS Automation.
“Dunkermotoren is very flexible and allows me to focus on my studies when needed, and I am very grateful!” he says. “The combination of university instruction and time spent at AMETEK has been a very diverse and insightful educational experience.”
