Celebrating Culture, Supporting Communities
With funding matches from the AMETEK Foundation, AMETEK colleagues support AAPI arts and cultural non-profits that bring our communities together.
The AMETEK Foundation proudly honors Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage by amplifying the generosity of our colleagues through matching contributions. Friends of We Chinese in America
Located in San Diego, CA, Friends of We Chinese in America is a non-profit organization that strives to be a stalwart champion of cultural exchange. One of the ways in which this is accomplished is through its AmeriCal Youth Symphony, which serves the community by providing music education and musical performances while developing student leadership skills.
Sharen, a Senior Buyer for AMETEK Programmable Power, volunteers around 150 hours each year toward the AmeriCal Youth Symphony. She helps plan recitals, she connects new students with current students to encourage a welcoming environment, and she established and maintains a carpool group to ensure that all students can attend practice and recitals.
The students have inspired and brought hope to many community members through their music. They have performed at places like the Ronald McDonald House, veteran retirement communities, and for people affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Vietnamese American Community of Massachusetts
The Vietnamese-American Community of Massachusetts is a non-profit organization that supports 26 independent Vietnamese-American associations and organizations, including Tết in Boston. Tết in Boston celebrates the Vietnamese Lunar New Year while bringing together the community and raising funds to support academic scholarships and educational cultural programs.
Oanh, a Customer Service Manager for AMETEK Brookfield, volunteers her time for Tết in Boston by serving on the Decoration Committee. On this committee, she brainstorms themes and then brings those ideas to life by constructing decorations and setting up and cleaning up for the event. Her contributions have helped transform venues into beautiful spaces to celebrate Vietnamese Lunar New Year, which is one of the most important events in Vietnamese culture.
The AMETEK Foundation matches Oanh's volunteerism for Tết in Boston with a monetary contribution to the Vietnamese American Community of Massachusetts.
Chinese Culture Association of Greater Philadelphia
