Meet Michelle, Senior Marketing Executive
Michelle is a senior marketing executive working with AMETEK businesses within the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
What made you want to join AMETEK?
The manufacturing industries are still growing, especially within Southeast Asia. A lot of manufacturing work and industries are all within this region. So, AMETEK is a business that will constantly thrive and grow. We have a foothold around the world, we have many businesses from all over the globe, different regions.
Empowerment in any role is important. How has AMETEK supported you?
AMETEK gives you the room to grow, to try on your ideas. You are challenged to not be afraid to succeed, and to not to be afraid to try – because only then that’s where we really grow and evolve ourselves. As the management believes in its employees, and our capabilities, they give us room and opportunities to try new ideas and new ways to help the company grow and flourish, and this will give us new opportunities to try and grow our personal careers as well.

How have these opportunities helped you develop your role?
AMETEK has provided me with many different opportunities to help harness and evolve my leadership skills. And they have given me so many chances to lead regional projects and then to lead a team. AMETEK’s adoption of Kaizen business philosophies means we continuously seek improvement in everything that we do. And the company does provide initiatives that help us progress personally, in our careers, in our teams, in our projects, and to always find better ways to do something.
Communication is a big part of making your role a success.
I help to market products and solutions that can be complicated at times, and it does challenge me to think about how I can better communicate that to customers in a way that is easy to understand and adds value to what they are looking for. So, I love what I do. It’s fun and challenging. When you learn how the products that we market and provide to customers are used to improve the lives of everyone, it just amazes you.
What would you tell someone interested in joining AMETEK?
You all get to work with people from different cultures and countries, so it does make for an interesting work life. If you want to try for more leadership responsibilities, there is opportunity there, as well. And there are chances to travel to various parts of the world, to work in different environments.
