AMETEK OFFERS JEMSTAR II REVENUE METER FOR IEC APPLICATIONS

ROCHESTER, NY, U.S.A. – AMETEK Power Instruments—a recognized leader in revenue meters for electrical utilities -- has announced the release of the JEMStar II IEC Revenue Meter; joining the family of JEMStar II ANSI meters released last year. The IEC version of the JEMStar II is used primarily outside of North America for high-accuracy revenue metering applications.

The JEMStar II IEC meter; like the ANSI meter, has the highest accuracy in the market at 0.05% of reading for watt hours and is often used to measure hundreds of thousands of dollars of electricity revenue at utility generation and transmission substations.

The JEMStar II IEC features the industry’s first color graphic display for real-time power values, meter status, site conditions and more. The meter has seven communication ports available, including dual independent Ethernet ports. It also offers advanced power quality monitoring to provide quick and easy analysis of system anomalies.

“The innovative, straightforward JEMWARE configuration software makes our meter the easiest one to use” says AMETEK’s Business Manager Steve Bleier. “Most meter technicians can configure our JEMStar II IEC with no assistance required.”

On the industry leading high accuracy for watt hours: “While we guarantee the 0.05% accuracy for 10 years, we were quite impressed with the typical accuracy of 0.02% and you can’t underestimate the importance of this when the JEMStar II IEC is used as the utility’s cash register,” adds Bleier.

The JEMStar IEC meter is backed by AMETEK’s 5-year warranty and 10-year accuracy guarantee. In addition to revenue meters, AMETEK offers a comprehensive line of power recording, measurement, and control instruments and sensor systems for gas turbine engines and industrial/utility boilers and burners.
