LARGO, FL— Sterling Ultra Precision, a world leader in ultra precision machine tool systems for the ophthalmic industry, has opened offices in Bangalore, India, and Shanghai, China. Both offices have dedicated sales and service representatives to serve a growing customer base in Asia.
Sterling’s Optoform two-axis contouring lathes are designed for high-speed cutting of spherical, multi-curve, aspheric and edge designs for contact and intraocular lenses. The lathes are fully compatible with Sterling’s FTS1000 Fast Servo toric attachment. Innovative proprietary hardware and software provide lens designers and manufacturers greater capability, including freeform geometry, asymmetric edge designs and superior form and finish.
