NABEREZHNYNE CHELNY, Russia—AMETEK Vehicular Instruments Systems (VIS) highlights the latest additions to its highly successful Next Generation Instrumentation (NGI®) vehicular instrumentation system at the Moscow International Motor Show, August 24-27. These include its C-COM LMC lightbar message center, C-COM compact 2-inch and 3-inch graphic display modules, and UIP-S Universal Instrument Panel-Specialized.

C-COM LMC: This rugged, easy-to-read lightbar message center provides real-time data information, diagnostics, fault codes, user set up features and maintenance requirements. It can be used independently, as a replacement for an existing lightbar message center, or as part of the C-COM advanced information system. Its user friendly interface features a full-graphic, backlit LCD, three menu navigation switches and three-button navigation menu. The versatile C-COM LMC collects data from the vehicles J1939 serial communications data bus, from discrete switches and from analog inputs.

C-COM 2A and 3A Graphic Display Modules: These 2-inch and 3-inch graphic display modules can be used either by themselves or as a complement to existing vehicle instrumentation simply by connecting them to an SAE J1939 (CAN) data bus. The modules can either display data directly from the vehicle data bus or customer-specified text and graphics. The gauges are sealed to IP67 specifications both front and rear. A backlit liquid crystal display provides clear, legible graphics. The rugged modules are designed to withstand harsh conditions typically found in off-road environments.

UIP-S Universal Instrument Panel-Specialized: This customizable UIP-S instrument panel features a compact design with a high-impact black ABS housing and scratch-resistant clear cover. It comes equipped with 42 telltales, 4 minor gauges, 2 major gauges and a 20x20 LCD display that can indicate engine and transmission data, fuel usage, service data along with diagnostics, fault codes and a self-test capability. The panel features advanced micro-stepper motors with increased resolution for smooth needle movement.
