Summary: Lead and manage sales, marketing and adminstration for $4M plus scientific instruments distribution center within the People's Republic of China.
Education & Experience
  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead current staff of two sales engineers, two application specialists, and one service engineer within the PRC in order to maintain and grow sales for three brands that cover niche specialty research instrument products. Manage all administration of employees in accordance with AMETEK and Chinese government regulations.

Determine optimum sales channel strategy for the three brands and implement with goals of maximum sales and profit balance. Determine and implement sales strategy and marketing strategy to achieve above market growth via share gain and superior sales and service. Make recommendations for pricing and new products. Maintain awareness of customer requirements and key purchase criteria. Maintain awareness of competition and initiatives that jeopardize our business goals.

Direct selling of one to three brands as needed. Will require becoming knowledgeable of business unit brands, products, and applications.

Manage business unit service organization within China for depot and field service. Coordinate installations and local training and ensure customer satisfaction.

Ensure business unit adheres to all AMETEK and regulatory requirements.

Lead local activities that include accounts receivable, letters of credit, customer duty free application process, and gathering post-product shipment acceptances by customers after installation. Serve as expert on contract and legal compliance for China (PRC).

Prepare and present reports on business results and strategy to business unit, division, and AMETEK.

Support sourcing of business unit products and/or components within China as needed.

Special Skills:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/REQUIREMENT
University/college degree in sciences to include chemistry; physics, biology or related field.

Demonstrated success in technical selling and in sales management. Proven ability to lead, develop and coach employees to achieve objectives in a team environment.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in written and verbal English language.

Prior work experience in research laboratory preferred.

Prior work experience for non-Chinese technical company preferred.

Able to travel domestically (within China) and internationally. Travel estimated at 25%.
