2. What kind of candidate is AMETEK looking for?
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated enthusiasm, leadership, initiative, creativity and maturity. We want someone who has the ability to achieve results, while carefully assessing and determining risks.
To qualify for a full-time position, a student or recent graduate must be in the final year of undergraduate or graduate study and be scheduled to graduate, or have graduated within the past two years. In addition, we look for students who have:
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Solid Grade Point Average (3.0 or better)
- Successful internship or work experience in their field of study
Please note: If you have already graduated, you must have less than two years of regular full-time work after graduation to be considered a university candidate. 4. What career opportunities does AMETEK have for graduating students and recent grads in the United States?
AMETEK is a global company with more than 70 manufacturing locations and more than 70 direct sales and services centers across the United States and in more than 30 other countries around the world. Locations depend on the AMETEK business that hires you. Among our businesses, we have locations in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, in addition to other locations nationwide.

5. What about opportunities outside of the United States?
Yes, we often have entry-level openings at our international locations, including China, Mexico and the United Kingdom. In addition, we have positions based in one country that have opportunities or requirements for international travel.

6. How much travel is involved?
Some travel may be required. However, it is usually less than 20% of the time (depending on the position). These expectations can be further discussed during the interview process.

8. Are there rotational assignments?
Some of our opportunities involve rotational assignments. A few of those involve taking on different responsibilities at one site or business unit, while others would be at different facilities or geographies. You can find out more about these opportunities during the interview process.

Yes, we do provide relocation assistance in keeping with AMETEK's relocation policy.

Yes, your employment location is responsible for assigning you a mentor.

11. How will my performance be reviewed?
Your performance will be reviewed according to the guidelines used at your employment location. Typically, you'll receive a formal written annual review. You also will receive less formal feedback throughout the year from your manager and mentor to ensure that you stay “on track” in your development.

12. What is AMETEK's policy on providing workshops or training for employees to improve their skill sets?
You and your supervisor will establish an individual development plan. At that time, you would discuss opportunities for seminars, assignments and training.

Policies vary by division, but there are numerous opportunities for tuition reimbursement.

15. What's next in the AMETEK recruitment process?
Our Campus Recruiting Team will conduct on-campus interviews and evaluate candidates. Our team consists of AMETEK executives committed to hiring and developing talented individuals.
Qualified candidates are notified of their status, and their resumes are posted on an AMETEK database for review by our businesses that have hiring needs. Individual business units then contact candidates to schedule on-site interviews.
Note: It is possible to be called for an interview for more than one division within AMETEK.
